Overview
The great battle |
World War II; The war to end all wars. The war to bring peace to all. The war was fought between two bands of powerful super powers, the Axis Powers and the Allied Powers. The Axis powers were comprised of Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. The Allied Powers were comprised of U.S., Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia.
The Axis Powers had a code with which to communicate called Enigma. Enigma was secure and was generally thought to be unbreakable. This code allowed for communication on the war fronts to be both rapid and safe. The Allied Powers won the war, though. HOW?
THESIS: The Allied powers were able to overcome the Axis Powers in WWII due to superior intelligence in the form of the cracking of the enigma code, which allowed the Allies to plan and plot actions that directly counteracted that of the Axis Powers. |
