What is Enigma?
Enigma is a system of code used to transmit messages securely and privately. It was developed in Germany in the early 1920s, but was not developed originally for warfare. It was actually originally used to transmit messages in the business world. They were messages for private stock transactions, or for dirty business deals made by conniving business people. It was when the British entered WWII that the German forces began using Enigma for war tactics. This Enigma proved to be extremely useful for the Germans as we will see in our in-depth learning journey of WWII and Enigma.
